Asana should not be practiced by reading books.It should be practiced under the instructions of a competent teacher only.

Punctuality & regularity of practice should be maintained to achieve desired results.

During Yogabhyas mind should be calm and free from anxieties.

Asana must be practiced in proper sequence e.g.starting with asana of supine-prone-sitting-standing positions etc.

Sequence of regular Yoga practice should be Kriyas, Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation.

Asanas must not be practiced in haste oar by applying any sort of force. One should reach to the final position of the Asana with minimum energy expenditure. And then hold the final position for the some time.

From the view point of experience,eyes closed during final position are more beneficial.

Always try to focus your attention on the influenced body part or condition of mind during the practice of Asana.

Relax in between the practice of two Asanasand pay attention to your breathing/respiration.This will help in experiencing the effect of Asana on your body and mind.

During the practice of Asanas do not manipulate breathing.It should be normal.

Select a well ventilated, clean and non disturbing corner or place for the practice of Yoga.

Morning is the ideal and best time for the practice .But it can be practiced at least after 4 hours duration from full meal.

Bath before the practice is good.Use cold or warm water as per the requirement of the individual and season.

45 minutes practice of Asana and 15 minutes of Pranayama daily is reasonably sufficient for a normal healthy person.However,depending on availability of time this can be changed.

Yogasana and Exercise can be practiced at the same time but with a minimum gap of 30 minutes.

Ladies should practice selected Asanas during menstruation.

Every Yoga practitioner must not forget that Yoga should be used primarily as preventive measure rather than a curative measure.
