Selection: Based on Common Admission Test conducted by Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Examination Board, Govt. of Jharkhand followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

2-Year Program

This is a two-year program with the entire course divided into Four Semesters. The first two semesters will consist of compulsory papers followed by electives in third and fourth semesters. The electives will cover the fields of Marketing, HRM, Finance and Information Technology leading to the specialization in the corresponding field.

3-Year Program

Three year Diploma in Hotel Mgmt. & Catering Technology has annual examination every year conducted by the State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Jharkhand. In second year the students have to go for rigorous Industrial Training (IT) for six months. In fact their first exposure to the hospitality industry at different hotels all over India comes during their IT; students get practical knowledge of different departments and their functions and day to day activities. It also helps and trains them in their specialized field of interest for career objectives.

Hotel management is the only professional Course which opens up employment opportunities immediately after completion of the course. The course motivates, guides and actively pursue research in various academic and applied fields of hospitality industry.

Objectives

The programme helps students to meet the industry\'s need for competent hospitality trade. Its programme creates opportunities for students to improve their technical & management skills, to develop more professional pride and create a sounder basis to develop career prospects. The programme covers four major departments with specialization in anyone of them:

  • Food Production.

  • Food & Beverages Services.

  • Front Office Operation.

  • Accommodation Operation.

22 Weeks Industrial Exposure Training

The 22-week Industrial Exposure Training is an integral part of the 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management course. This training for the students is an introduction to the operations of the Hotel Industry.

As part of their 2nd year Course Curriculum the students are sent to various star category hotels of the country. The Institute, keeping in view the needs of the Industry and the Students, organizes this training. Year after year the students have been placed for the said training in hotels like the The Oberoi Group, The Taj Group, Hyatt Regency, Leela Group, The Kenilworth Kolkata, The Ramada Caravella Goa, The Majorda Beach Resort Goa, The Peerless Inn Kolkata, The Bogmalo Beach Resort Goa, Le Royal Meridien Chennai, The Howard Park Plaza Agra, _he Jaypee Hotel Agra to name a few.
