Our Faculty



All our faculty members have long standing experience in the floral industry and other art forms. All of them have undergone intensive training conducted by IMTF, Mexico to become trainers to impart floral design skills, for the advanced certificated being offered by IFD. Students will be exposed to several different faculty members, each with their own area of design or business expertise.

Daisy Sidhwa

Daisy has done her BA ,and DMM from Bajaj Institute , Mumbai. She has taken lessons in the Ohara style of Ikebana flower arrangeing and does floral designing for indoor and out door parties, exhibitions conferences and openings and also silk flower arrangements for life style stores. She is also a window display designer and designs interiors of exhibition stalls. Daisy also styles curtains and drapes and does soft furnishings for residential interiors.

Harinakshi Mistry

Harinakshi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Biophysics from the University of Bombay. She is fluent in German and French and teaches Biology and French to high-school students. Harinakshi is a bonsai and ikebana enthusiast. She is also an avid painter and experiments with various media. Her last exhibition featured hand-painted silk scarves and porcelain. Her works have featured in interior décor magazines. She teaches painting and calligraphy.

Kamini Johari

Kamini Holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Mumbai University. She has been actively involved in the field of floral design and art since past 9 years. Kamini is a member of Ohara and Sogetsu school of Ikebana. She has participated in various Flower Arrangement and Bonsai shows/competitions; and won over 30 awards. She has won 1’st prizes in the Flower Arrangement Competition arranged by the Bombay Rose Society (city-wide), and a state-wide contest arranged by the Maharashtra Times.

Megha Ketkar

Megha holds a bachelor’s degree in arts in Sociology from Mumbai University. She has been actively involved in the field of floral design and Bonsai since past 15 years. She has successfully completed the Assistant Teacher’s Course from OHARA SCHOOL OF IKEBANA. She is a committee Member on the Bonsai Study Group of Indo – Japanese Association and Joint Secretary at Ohara School of Ikebana.

Neha Joshi

Neha holds a master’s degree in Chemistry. She has worked as a lecturer of chemistry in S. P. College Pune. She is a freelance floral designer & has a passion for murals and paintings.

Purnima Shah

Purnima, a bachelor of commerce from Podar college Mumbai is a Master of Ikebana, Japanese art of floral design . She is teaching Ikebana at Indo Japanese Association since 1987. Purnima owns a flower and design studio for fresh and dry flower arrangements. She has been associated with finest hotels as a creative designer and consultant for flower arrangement. Since 2001, she has been on the panel of judges for various Ikebana competitions and other flower exhibitions.

Pallavi Dhupelia

Pallavi is an Ikebana-qualified teaching professional for floral design. She has over 10 years of teaching experience in floral design, which goes beyond Ikebana and also includes porcelain, dry, paper and beaded flowers. Pallavi’s creative work has been seen at various weddings and parties in which she has taken the lead on the floral arrangements and decor. Her passion for teaching and floral design has led her to take on a volunteer position at a center for mentally disabled children, Om Creations, in Mumbai. In addition, Pallavi is known for her encaustic art work and embroidery. She makes beautiful greeting cards that are appropriate for any occasion.

Vibha Gupta

Vibha holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts in Ancient Indian History from St Xavier's college, Mumbai. She has been associated with Sogetsu School of Ikebana since 1975. She has completed Jonin Somu degree in Ikebana and also teaches Ikenaba. Vibha has been working as a floral designer since 1993 for various five start hotels and corporate. She has her own floral design studio in Mumbai.
