GMAC has designed this course to introduce students to the fundamental working methods of the digital painter to create illustrations and paintings. It is ideal for students to have a keen interest in art and the desire to expand on their current skills. The course teaches basic fine art principles and how to integrate these techniques into a digital workflow. • Still-life painting

• Toning in grayscale

• Environment painting

• Introduction to perspective

• Painting a portrait

• Introduction to color

• Adjusting color temperature to achieve believable portraits

• Drawing and painting from the imagination

• Bringing it all together from thumbnail to finished painting

• How to maintain digital sketchbooks and portfolios
