Our Values & Philosophy

Ahimsa
The philosophy of ahimsa advocates the resolution of differences through understanding and is vital for the progress for mankind. The founders have a deep reverence for the values of ahimsa in every sphere: social, economical, cultural and ecological.

Guru-Shishya Parampara
Reviva land regeneration of guru-shishya ethos in this contemporary modernized curriculum based pedagogy is part of our ideal. The Foundation values the ancient system of imparting knowledge through mentoring, focus on dialogue, questioning and formulating new concepts. This also recognizes the importance of learners as the pivot of the teaching-learning environment, thus promoting learner-centric curriculum. The harmonious bond between the teacher-learner is established through the spirit of inquiry, intellectual exchanges and mutual respect.

Respect for human dignity
Our land has honored the philosophy of ‘Vasudeva kutumbakam’ since ages. The purpose of the education is to groom a student’s mind to become sentient to human dignity across all stratum and creed of the World’s society. Education must instill in them a respect for divergent thoughts and teach them introspection.

Ecological balance
The Foundation believes in the ancient concept of ‘panchabhuta’- the five basic elements that constitute our universe that is easily destabilized by a disturbance in their balance. We thus strive to make FLAME's campus ecologically secure. Situated amidst the natural flora and fauna, the Foundation also undertakes a conscious effort to maintain that equilibrium by adopting eco-friendly practices for waste disposal, water conservation, recycling of waste material, planting trees and the protecting native natural resources.

Humility
We believe in the ideology of humility. Through humility, one achieves the state of enlightenment, recognises the virtues and talents that others possess, particularly those which surpass one's own, and giving due honor to those individuals; and also makes conscious about limitations of one's talents, ability, or authority; and, not reaching for that which is beyond one's grasp. This is truly trusting that an institution is above human ego.

Our Philosophy

What does it mean ‘to be educated’? Is it just the acquisition of a degree. . . or Is it an awareness?

Education must provide tools that help students to constantly enquire, explore, discover. . . new ways of thinking, critically analyzing, creatively conceptualizing. . . The idea behind FLAME is to help students free themselves from the traditional ways of looking at things and instead to constantly question and challenge themselves, society and the world at large.

FLAME will endeavor to teach and train students to become enlightened members of society. . . good, caring and responsible citizens.

FLAME will encourage teaching based on the principle: "Learning is the beginning of a journey with no end." – a pedagogy that is anchored in the ancient and traditional Guru-Shishya ethos.

FLAME will ensure that, in addition to formal knowledge in their chosen subject, students will also be grounded in values and ethics, will have perspective and context, will be culturally and socially aware, will have excellent communication skills. . . all that is needed to ‘make a difference’.
