Flameoffers 75 acres of tranquil space, just 13 Kms. from the Pune University main gate. Help
At FLAME, help is always at hand. We have a “Help Desk” that offers students assistance in various aspects of campus life. All questions and requests for assistance can be directed to the Help Desk.
Smart Cards
FLAME issues Access Control Cards or Smart Cards to every member of the FLAME community. The Smart Card is required for access to various places on the campus and also used as an Identity Card. Students are expected to carry this Card at all times and produce it on demand.
Connect
Students and faculty members have 24-hour Wi-Fi Internet and intranet portal access. At the time of registration, each student is given a unique e-mail and login ID. Students have to log in to the FLAME network to access the Internet. FLAME’s interface with the Internet is firewalled.
Eat
FLAME has state-of-the-art dining and kitchen facilities. FLAME serves only vegetarian food. Students are issued plates for food only upon flashing their Smart Cards at the counter at the entrance to the dining hall.
There are several food-stalls managed by students themselves functioning on campus. These serve vegetarian snacks and soft drinks. FLAME also has a Café Coffee Day outlet on the campus.
Go
Normally a Shuttle Bus Service is available for students between the Campus and City (up to Ferguson College Road). Please check the website or contact the Travel Desk for updates for timings and other details.
Just in Case
An emergency Ambulance service is available for 24 hours. This can be used under extra-ordinary circumstances.
Health Services
FLAME provides infirmary and health service facilities, located in the shopping complex. Trained medical staff provides first aid and emergency care to all students. A doctor and nurses are available on call, on all days. Basic facility for treatment of common ailments, common cold, cough and minor injuries is available at the Campus infirmary. In case of emergencies a doctor is available on call for 24 hrs.
For dealing with serious ailments and emergencies, FLAME has a tie up with several known hospitals in Pune.
Live
The students are housed in apartment blocks or in 2 storied units. These units have three or more bedrooms each. Rooms are allocated to students on a double occupancy basis. Every room is equipped with a locker and students are expected to take responsibility of their valuables.
FLAME provides in some of the areas, facilities for viewing DTH TV at cost.
The Repository of Knowledge - Library
FLAME library has evolved into a reservoir of knowledge. It houses reference and reading material for students of the four residential programs. It has a collection of almost 7000 books. 20 specialized journals and a Media Library of CDs, VCDs and DVDs of films of Foreign and Indian origins line its shelves. The library houses an electronic-media cell on its premises where students and faculty members can browse varied databases such as CMIE and PROQUEST and other online resources. The conference room attached to the library provides enclosed interaction space for those wishing to hold formal or informal discussions. FLAME in the process of expanding its library space to enhance the students’ educational experience.
Sports at Flame
At Flame, students can pursue their academic and sporting interests just as well. Sports are a mandatory activity for all first year students. FLAME encourages its students to compete; to taste victory; to swallow defeat and grow as individuals.
FLAME has a football ground, international size cricket ground, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, a martial arts dojo and an outdoor swimming pool. It is one of the few campuses in India with access to a golf course. FLAME also has a floodlit indoor sports hall with facilities for badminton, snooker and table tennis.
FLAME is one of the few education institutes in India that offers its students a 18-hole golf course adjacent to its campus. FLAME students enjoy all the facilities offered by this international standard golf course. Par 72, and covering 7020 yards, the course was designed by Pacific Course Design, Melbourne, Australia. It offers the chance to FLAME students to learn or improve their game from top international and Indian coaches.
Sports facilities are provided free of charge to students, except for horse riding, martial arts and golf. The charges for these are highly subsidized and offer the students an opportunity to learn the sport.
Coaching may be provided for sports such as swimming, badminton, basketball, football, martial arts, horse riding, volleyball and fitness gym.
Every year FLAME hosts a number of special sports events, including both intra and inter-collegiate sports competitions, seminars from top sports instructors and coaches, and a martial arts tournament involving teams from across India.
Leveraging on the excellent sports facilities, FLAME inaugurated its first inter-collegiate sports competition called Kurukshetra. Thirty different colleges participated in this event, with approximately eight hundred people coming to campus to participate and cheer for their home teams.
Sports Coaches
Associate Professor Russell Haworth - Head of Sports
Russell Haworth brings over 30 years experience in playing and coaching sports both in the UK and India. These include Football, Basketball, Snooker, Tennis, and Physical Fitness. In 2006 he coached the winners of the Josh intercompany women's basketball tournament, with a winning score of 38-0. He has studied martial arts for most of his life, including Karate, Kung fu, and Jeet Kune Do in the UK, and has attended coaching in mixed martial arts with international masters and Bruce Lee students Dan Inosanto and James de Mille, as well as UFC champion Chuck Liddell. He has also recently passed the Krav Maga Civilian Instructor's course. Russell will be coaching the Jiu-Jitsu blue belt course, as well as a Self Defence and Fitness Course at FLAME.
Mr. Sadhu Vishnu Bhandigare
Mr. Bhandigare has trained thousands of military cadets in physical fitness over many years. The courses include Boxing, Swimming, Judo and Karate, Handball, and Cricket. He will be coaching volleyball and physical fitness at FLAME.
Mr. Aher Ganesh Hanumant
Ganesh Aher brings over 15 years of experience of playing and coaching sports, all across India. He participated in all India athletic games in U.P. and secured 5th position at the National Level. In 1999, under his training, four students were selected for athletics meet at the school level for our National team, and in 2001 his trained basketball team was selected for the zonal levels. He was selected as the best cadet in Bhosala Military training course. He has also received gold medal in Rifle Shooting (0.02) at the N.C.C. course and has received the best volunteer award from National Social Service (NSS) at an all India level. As part of his academics, he was the highest ground exam marks holder, in his batch of B.Ed.(Physical Education) which he completed from Pune University. The sports which he always excelled at include basketball, badminton, bodybuilding, athletics, kabbadi, yoga and swimming. At FLAME, he will be coaching students in basketball, badminton and physical fitness.
Rules
All students participating in any sporting activity will be expected to abide by the FLAME Sports Rules of Conduct.

No un-sportsman like behavior – this includes no bad language, no violent conduct, no deliberately trying to harm another student or official, no physical or verbal abuse of officials and/or coaches, no disrespectful behavior towards opposing players.

No unauthorized substitutions or leaving the field of play without permission from the coach or official.

Students should attend matches or coaching sessions at the scheduled time. Latecomers will be marked as absent.

Students can only participate in sports coaching or events if they are dressed in the correct sports kit and footwear.

Participation in sporting events, teams and competitions (both internal and external) will only be available to those who are part of the sports coaching programme. Those who have the choice whether or not to enroll and have chosen not to, will not be eligible for that year for any sporting activity.

During the hours scheduled for sports coaching, the sports facilities and equipment will only be available to those who are part of the coaching programme. Students who are not involved can only use the facilities outside of the coaching times, but will still be governed by the same set of rules.

Any sports equipment which is damaged or lost by a student must be paid for within 24 hours. No student can participate in sports or use any equipment or facilities until the lost/damaged equipment has been paid for.

All equipment borrowed must be returned the same day. Any equipment not returned the same day will be treated as lost/damaged and rule 7 will apply.
The sports office has the right to amend or add to the sports rules as and when they feel it is required. The sports office will notify students through updates on the FLAME intranet sports site, and notices outside the sports office. It is the responsibility of each student to make sure they are up to date with any changes in the sports rules. Any student found in breach of the sports rules may be referred to the Sports disciplinary committee, who will decide what action needs to be taken.
