Fees



Rules for Fees and Refunds:

1) Unless mentioned otherwise, all amounts are payable to ‘DA Film School’.

2) All payments made by Indian nationals must be accompanied by the Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the payee, without which fees will not be accepted.

3) All fees as mentioned are for the course. For Indian students, the fees are being collected over 2 installments. The semester- Wise payments are not specific to the semester and do not reflect the value of the course completed till then. They are simply broken up to facilitate the student.

4) International students will be required to pay the full course fees at the time of admission. Only upon payment of full fees, DA will issue the fee receipt, the Bonafide Student Certificate and the invitation letter for issuance of Visa.

5) All installments are payable on or before the last date for the same as may be announced from time to time.

6) If a student wishes to withdraw from the course between 2 semesters, S/he has to convey the same in writing to Manager – Administration at least 2 weeks prior to Semester commencement. After such date, entire fees for the next semester will become due and payable.

7) Following lapses/delays in payment will attract a penalty of Rs. 1,000/- per day:

  • Delay in Fee Payment for second semester.
  • In case of each act of cheque bouncing / dishonour of cheque.

8)  Occasionally there maybe additional required classes added to the standard curriculum, which may be mandatory. However, no extra fees will be charged for the same.

9)  Service Tax as applicable (currently 12.36%) would be additional on all payments made to DA Film School and is not reflected in the above-mentioned amounts. Further, any additional taxes if levied by the government / taxation authorities, the same would need to be borne by the students. Appropriate intimation of the same would be given to students.

10)  Excessively delayed fee payments may be cause for denying the student from attending the classes/practicals till all outstanding dues are paid by the student.

11)  Policy For Refund Of Fees:
As a policy DA does not encourage cancellation of admissions as it deprives other eligible students from taking admissions. However, under very special circumstances, the Management may use its discretion and allow cancellation of admission upon request from a student. In such cases, the rules for refund will be as under :

  • Any part of Service Tax will not be refunded.
  • If the request for cancellation is received at least 2 weeks before course commencement date, then 50% of the amount received towards fees will be refunded.
  • If the request for cancellation is received after the above period, but at least 3 days before course commencement date, then 25% of the amount received towards fees will be refunded.
  • If the student does not clear the graduation examination or submit the proof thereof within the stipulated period of one month, then 75% of the amount received towards fees will be refunded within one month after submission of the request for refund along with the proof of not clearing the graduation examination.
  • For an international student, if the Visa is refused by the Indian authorities after taking admission and paying the full fees, then upon furnishing the visa rejection letter from the Indian authorities, 75% of the amount received towards fees will be refunded.
  • Under no circumstances any refund will be considered / given if the request for cancellation is received after the aforesaid deadline.

12)  Fee Policies as above are subject to change at Management’s discretion.

Kindly Note:

  1. The Management reserves the rights to change/modify the fees/schedule/curriculum/timings as an when the need may arise.

  2. Since most of the faculty at Digital Academy - The Film School are practicing Industry Experts, the schedules may vary out of a professional contingency that the faculty may have. In such cases, DA will provide alternative faculty as it may deem fit.

  3. The Final Certification is a function of 80 % attendence in both theory as well as practicals alongwith a minimum 50% marks in all assignments and submissions. Students who donot complete either of these requirements will not be issued the Certificate.

  4. The decision of the Management will be final and binding. All the disputes arising out of any concern may be settled in Mumbai Jurisdiction only.
