Creative Hut Gurukulam (Institute) of photography with new natural elegant campus in the rural part of Mattakkara, Kottayam, in God’s own Country Kerala, India was started on 12th December 2007 in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, India. It is an ISO certified institute and aims at promoting photography among the people worldwide. We intend to enhance and give a platform to explore the hidden talent within each individual. Creative Hut provides an opportunity to its potential customers to optimize their creative minds with practical knowledge and skill-improving strategies to reach a secure bright future.

Know the Campus

Creative Hut Gurukulam of Photography aims in Eco- friendly education in the fields of photography and design through nature around you. The Gurukulam is so located in Kerala, “God’s own Country” the most acclaimed tourist destination in India. Gurukulam is on the banks of a river commonly known as “Pannagam Thodu”. The other side is surrounded by landscapes and hillocks. The institute is about 20 KM from Kottayam town and 15 KM from Palai. The blow of winds, the flow of river, the melody of rain, the changing clouds and the ever foliage not only makes you to experience the most natural sounds and colours of nature but also helps you in understanding to work in different lighting conditions and angles. Each and every factor in the campus helps one in learning the different aspects of design and creative arts.

To develop a stable platform, one has to be both creative and adaptive.The natural atmosphere around the institute keeps one feel enthusiastic all the time to capture the best in it. The campus here is intrinsic, creative and appropriate for learning and sharing the knowledge of design and well supported for the indoor and outdoor sessions required for courses. The institute encourages its students to grow with the modern technologies giving cent percent importance to nature, greenery, agriculture, natural beauties such as innumerable different varieties of birds, insects, butterflies, the ayurvedic trees and plantations of coffee, rubber, pepper, jack-fruit, mangos, coconuts, ginger, turmeric, tapioca and banana etc found here in the institute campus which had indeed proved to be a boon to the Photographers and videographers. Mattakkara Thuruthippally Devi temple near to the institute is famous for having more than 100 different kinds of Birds.

Facilities

The class rooms, campus and surrounding of Creative Hut Gurukulam is designed in such a way that one would definitely refer it to as a “Vedic School”. The residential programs, provided for the students by the institute has in fact made the institute as their second family which gives them a ‘Gurukul’ type of feeling as they share, learn and explore their creativity with the faculty and other fellow learners. Students are provided with internet and wi-fi facility, library, studio and camera equipments. The river, flora and fauna found here supports the institute's educational and traditional system. The photography tours, photo walks, photo talks, photography competition and exhibition organized for creative hut students and issue of creative hut id card with one year validity is an added facility for them.
