Infrastructure
The core of ACAPL's operations is run from the MIDC Airport at Baramati. We have area admeasuring 9 acres to run our entire operations. The approved hangarage area comes in 3,96,000 sq ft. This facility is broadly divided into Seven sections.
Operations The operations section occupies a ground + 1 structure that have an approximate area of 5000 sq ft. The first floor gives the pilot cadets direct viewing access to the hanger, hence maintaining a positive aviation environment at all times. The operations section is equipped with infrastructure to success full running the training operations. The operations floor is further sub divided in the following sections:
The facilities for students at ACAPL are on par with those of any internationally accepted institutions. Other than the above mentioned facilities, ACAPL has provided for lunch rooms and recreational needs in the form of a pool table, T.T Table and Basket Ball Court. For those interested the Academy arranges for Martial Arts. The classrooms are flooded with all essential amenities including overhead projectors and computers apart from audio visual systems. A well stocked library which covers all possible Aviation Subjects and topics is also made available to our students. Engineering The engineering section occupies an area of 5000 sq ft. and is situated opposite the operations department directly across the hanger. This department has been approved by DGCA to maintain the aircraft in our fleet. This section has the following work areas:
Administration The overall day to day running of the academy is the raison detre of the admin department. The admin department is comprised of a general office, an accounts room and a visitor's lounge - where visitors and guests to the ACAPL hangar are entertained. The admin department is well equipped with all the necessary amenities for the successful running of an organization. Control Tower ACAPL has erected its own control tower. We have a designated frequency 129.25 MHz which is utilized by Pilots in the vicinity of Baramati Aerodrome. In the tower we have our own weather equipment that enables us to ascertain and monitor local weather conditions on hourly basis. We are in the process to setup a Low Power NDB at Baramati Airfield so that the Training facilities for the students can be further enhanced. Hanger The hanger comes under 5000 sq ft. of area. The hanger is approved by DGCA and is well equipped by requisite number of fire extinguishers, Trestles , ladders, workbenches, GPU and lightning for maintenance at night. The hanger facility is capable of handling 4 aircrafts maintenance at a time. Going forward, we are going to enhance the hangar enabling it to handle heavy Aircrafts (i.e. Aircrafts above 5700kgs). Apron ACAPL has access to a 2,25,000 sq ft. (5 acres) apron, which apart from housing the eighteen aircrafts in our fleet also is the parking base of visiting Aircrafts, which are quite a regular appearance at our base. Runway The runway used by ACAPL is a 7700 ft. tarmac runway with a breath of 150 ft. The runway direction is 11/29. ACAPL has obtained permission to fly outside watch hours giving us the advantage of flying round the clocks. As a result, we fly from the most dawn to dusk with respect to day flying apart from night flying that is do. |
