Santhi Akkineni

Guest Faculty

Santhi Akkineni is involved in film direction, costume designing and styling. She has worked on a number of films such as Chakram, LSanthi Akkineni is involved in film direction, assistant direction, costume design and styling. She has worked on a number of films including Chakram, Lakshmi Kalyanam, Jai, Addhivishnu, Mestry, and Young India are some of the many films she has been a part of. In addition to this she has been the associate designer for the French series Rani, and created costumes for Bharati: The Wonder That is India, and Britz. She has also translated movies from Marathi and Tamil into Telugu and Telugu into English.

Sunil Bandi

Adjunct Faculty

Sunil is a writer, producer and director.

A qualified doctor, with an MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry, Sunil hails from a Doctor’s family. It was expected that he would work as a doctor. However, the filmmaking bug bit him in the Second year of MBBS. Thereafter, he set about learning about films and filmmaking, by working on documentaries and assisting on short films.

Sunil made his foray into the Telugu Film Industry with ‘Alalu’ (Tides), which is yet to be released. For his first venture, he chose not to cast any stars, which is unusual in these days. He has a couple of projects in various stages of production.

Sutapa Basu

Faculty: Animation

Sutapa Basu is an illustrator, concept artist and matte painter with over five years experience working in this field. A graduate in botany, her interest in film and painting led her to animation after her graduation.

Recently she worked with DQ Entertainment International in Hyderabad as a Senior 3D Pre-Production Artist specializing as a matte painter. She has handled a wide-range of projects, including designing the logo and e-cards for ATM greetings and was part of the core team in the creation of key mattes for over 52 episodes of The Jungle Book

Pushpa Bhaskar

Pushpa Bhaskar is a producer for television and radio shows. Her shows are focused on housewives and young adults. She has been a producer and presenter for Wave9 – the radio arm of TV9 – and presents Home Maker on a variety of topics of interest to working women and housewives. In addition, she has worked as a presenter for Rainbow FM, KIDS.com, special segments for Parineeta, an exclusive women’s program, and RJ training program at Radiocity. She is currently an RJ and Producer at Japa4 Entertainment Network Ltd. and presents segments dealing with health, child care, savings, investments and home budgeting.

MNVVK Chaitanya

Faculty: Management

MNVVK Chaitanya has been Associate Dean, Program Manager and Faculty throughout his career.

He began working at Planman Media in New Delhi as Chief of Bureau(Economics Affairs). Some of the publications he worked with include the India Economy Review, The Sunday Indian and Business & Economy. Chaitanya has also worked at the IIPM Think Tank as the Deputy and Principal (Economics Research Group). At IIPM he was a part of the faculty for over eight years and was the Associate Dean at IIPM Hyderabad between 2008 and 2010. After working with IIPM, MNVVK began working as faculty and as the Associate Dean at IMACS at Centum Learning Ltd, in Hyderabad.

MNVVK Chaitanya first received his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) and his M.A. in Sociology, the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. At IIPM he received his Post Graduate Diploma in Planning and Entrepreneurship. In 2009 he attended the Judge School of Business in Cambridge University for the Advanced Global Management Program from July to October in 2009.

Noelie Charles

Guest Faculty

Noelie Charles is a French filmmaker. She made her first trip to India in 1999 and has travelled back and forth between France and India for her film making. She is an independent filmmaker and looks at making films that confront social issues. After studying at the Fine Arts School in Bordeaux she continues her studies by coming to India and studying at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

She has worked on a number of films and most recently she filmed Aao and Patrakar Ka Vachar. She has also worked on the film Virgin Goat by Murali Nair. Recently she worked on a project with the orphans from the SOS village to help them create a film.

Swapnesh Chintala

Swapnesh Chintala has been a part of the media industry since 2002. He has worked as a concept designer, program producer, programming manager and in charge of a variety of departments. As a starting point in his career he was part of the direction team for the film Teen Deewarein by Nagesh Kukunoor. He has worked as a program producer for Gemini Television, Manager for programming at South Parade and worked as a freelancer/ media consultant. He began working at Maa Television Network and was the Senior Manager of Programming and currently is the content head for digital and new media and is the head of monitoring quality control and research.

J Ciran Chowdary

Faculty: Cinematography

J Ciran Chowdary has over 6 years of Cinematography experience in FILM & DIGITAL and another 3 years of experience in the Multimedia Industry.

He has worked as Director of Photography at Tourism and Travel Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. He has also been associated with ABN Andhra Jyothy and UTV Software Communications Ltd. Besides these, he has also worked as an animator and graphic and web designer at Svojastech Pvt. Ltd., India.

He has made 27 HD documentaries all over India. He is a recipient of the Best Film on A.P. Tourism in the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Awards For Excellence 2010-2011.

J Ciran Chowdary holds an MBA from Osmania University as well as a Diploma in Camera & Lighting Techniques from Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) and an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia Web Publishing from ZED Career Academy.

Neeta Jain Dahut

Neeta Jain Dahut is a film director and writer.

She has a M.A. in Linguistics and English from Delhi and an MPhil in Linguistics at the Sorbonne in France. After spending time as a translator and production coordinator for documentaries she chose to move into filmmaking herself and launched her own company called “Aur Kya Films”.

Her films “O BAI” , a short fiction film, and her creative documentary “The Indian Knot” were selected for a number of film festivals and were telecast in France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, USA and Canada. Both these films were co-produced with a French TV channel called ARTE. Along with these films she has also translated a number of books and articles. Currently, she is in the process of creating another documentary and writing the screenplay for a feature film.

Aneesh Daniel

Aneesh Daniel is a director and producer based out of India. Some of the short films he has directed are Peter’s Denial, Samarpan, Three Wise Men and Kidz.

Aditya Deshbandhu

Faculty

Aditya Deshbandhu has a master’s degree in communication and journalism from the Central University of Hyderabad, with a specialization in Communication and Media Studies. He has also studied page layout and design,and co-authored a thesis exploring the role played by display pictures from social networking sites, namely Facebook, in modern society.

Aditya has also worked as a program producer and radio jockey for Bol Hyderabad, Hyderabad’s first university-based community radio station.

Dr.Gashash Deshe

Dr. Gashash Deshe is an attorney who specializes in International Copyright and Entertainment Law.

He has been a part of production, management and creativity. Some productions he has worked on are Fiddler on the Rood, Little Shop of Horrors, Joseph and the Amazing Technical Dream-Coat, The Representative Troup of the People’s Republic of China and The Prince and the Pauper. He is currently the producer of the show Bharati.

Bhanu Devulapally

Faculty

Bhanu Devulapally has over 16 years of teaching experience and a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. Having received an advanced diploma from the Alliance Francaise, Bhanu is also well-versed in French and coaches students intending to immigrate to French-speaking countries.

Bhanu has co-authored several papers and text books on political science for junior colleges and universities and was shortlisted for an ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship in 2011.

Bhanu’s inclination towards media led her to organize a media fest Flick showcasing short films made by the mass communication department and a photography exhibition Click encouraging freelance photography by students of Villa Marie College in Hyderabad.

She is currently working towards a Ph.D. on the political economy of SAARC from Osmania University.

Anand Ghose

Faculty: Cinematography

Anand has 14 years of experience in film and multimedia. His main area of work is corporate films, but he has made documentary films, concept films for events, educational films, and promotional films for software products.

‘Satyam Live’, was an interactive walk-through about Satyam Computers (now Mahindra Satyam). The highlight was a panoramic projection using multiple projections running at the same time.

‘Ray’s World’, produced by Price Waterhouse Coopers, was a multimedia project, based on the life and work of Satyajit Ray. The team comprised of Sandip Ray, Satyajit Ray’s son with Sir Richard Attenborough providing the voice-over.

Anand has a Masters’ in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has worked with organizations like Caps Micro Graphics, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Mahindra Satyam.

Kurt Inderbitzin

Kurt offers in-depth knowledge in education, global media, entertainment and technology. Kurt holds an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelors of Arts from Georgetown University.From 2006 to 2008, Kurt headed the largest film and television institute in Asia – Whistling Woods International in Mumbai – for film studio Mukta Arts.

In the 13 years prior to launching Whistling Woods, Kurt produced feature films and television movies and series in the United States for CBS, ABC, NBC, Lifetime, TBS and USA before becoming President of Abandon Pictures, a diversified entertainment company.During this period, Kurt was also a guest lecturer or visiting faculty at many universities including Texas Christian University, Susquehanna University, University of California, Northridge, and the University of LaVerne. 

Mohan Krishna Indraganti

Mohan Krishna Indraganti is an award winning Telugu film director.

His debut film Grahanam was received very well by critics and he won over eleven awards for it. Amongst these awards he won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film as a Debut Director and Golden Lotus Award, for Grahanam in 2005. His films Mayabazar, Ashta Chamma and Golconda High School were also praised highly.

Pratima Jaidev

Faculty: Screenwriting

Pratima is an award winning filmmaker, specializing in documentaries, corporate films and short films.

Her many clients as a freelancer producer include UNICEF, AMR-APARD, APMAS and CIIL. In India, she has worked as a Program Designer for Gemini TV and Teja News and as a Creative Writer for CMC Limited. In the US, she was a Content Screener for Discovery Channel, a Reporter for Voice of America (Hindi Division) and an Associate Producer for International Herald Tribune TV.

She won the Best Director award at the Hyderabad International Film Festival for her short film Voices of Tomorrow and was an associate producer for the CINE Golden Eagle-winning documentary Raising Up: Women of India.

Pratima has a Master of Arts in Film and Video from American University, Washington, a Master of Arts in English Literature from Osmania University, India, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Bhavan’s College Of Communication and Management, India.

David Jairaj

David Jairaj is an entrepreneur and a marketing communications consultant, with more than 16 years of experience in creative writing and communication design. He has worked extensively with clients in information technology, retail, real estate and education domains. He specializes in advising small and medium enterprises on how to go to market.

Ashok Jankar

Faculty: Scriptwriting & Producing

Ashok Jankar is an Indian filmmaker.

He began as a co-director for promos and a docu-fiction narrative, on the empowerment of women for Asmitha Microfin Ltd.. He has worked at Design Street / Hema Advertising Agency, Blue Frog Media Pvt. Ltd., and Real Channel Turner Entertainment Group. In addition to this he did the script for the film Anantham involving three urban women and their love stories. For the past year Ashok Jankar has been teaching film direction and screenplay writing at the SAE institute.

Deepa Joshi

Deepa Joshi is a stylist and character designer in India. She has worked on films like Chakram and Arundhati. She won the Nandi Award for her work in Arundhati.

Arvind Joshua

Guest Faculty

Arvind Joshua is a fashion and costume designer.

He is known for his use of the material khadi on and off screen. His work can be seen in films like Happy Days, Ashta Chamma, Anand, Leader, Godavari and the upcoming film Life is Beautiful. He works closely with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. He is currently trying to move towards using a 100 percent eco friendly material for all his products. He strongly believes in fair trade and creating his products through a sustainable process.

Apart from designing for women and working within the film industry Aravind Joshua enjoys working with weavers to look at new and innovative ways to experiment with khadi. He has also started the Trithvaa School of Fashion and Costume Design in collaboration with the Khadi Mahavidyalaya.

Radhika Lavu

Radhika Lavu is an entrepreneur and filmmaker. She has worked with HMRI (Health Management Research Institute) and Runway Reels before co-founding Pensar Creations, a production company that produces corporate films, wedding films, television commercials, viral videos, documentary films, web series and short films.

Karunakar

Venkat Karunakar Uday also known as Karunakar is a compositor. He is well known for his work in a number of movies such as Krrish, Sivaji, Dabangg, Endhiran and Ra. One. More recently he worked on the visual effects for the Hollywood film The Help.

Satish Kasetty

Satish Kasetty is an ad filmmaker and a director.

He worked for Suresh Productions Pvt Ltd., initially as a consultant for the hit film Kalisundam Raa. He also worked on a number of ad films dealing with women’s welfare and has made a number of documentaries on the real estate business. In addition to this he also did fashion photography and created portfolios for actors and actresses like Diya Mirza, Simran, Vidya Naidu, Rohit, Rajesh, Charan, Shashi And Lavanya.

His film, Hope, was a National Award winning film and was the only Telugu film to be a part of the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India in 2008. His second film Kalavaramaye Madilo won the Nandi Award as the Third Best Film in 2009.

Mirchi Kiran

Mirchi Kiran is an RJ (radio jockey) and a sound producer. He currently works at Radio Mirchi and is popularly known for his show Breaking News Babu Rao.

Mr.Ramesh Kolluri

Ramesh Kolluri is an Indian film editor specifically in the Telugu film industry. He has worked on a number of films such as Alludiporu, Once More, Allari Pelli Koduku, Sandade Sandadi, Allare Allari, Ram Dev and many more.

In 2010 Krish released his second film Vedam in Telugu (remade in Tamil), which was a critical as well as a commercial success. He is currently working on his next project, Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum.

Nishi Levitt

Nishi Levitt is a soft skill trainer based out of India. At the start of her career Nishi was a pre-school teacher at the Stanger Circle Pre-School in Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa for over 2 years. In 1994 she began working as an Executive Assistant at Videofashion Inc. Soon after she began working at Birthday Bakers Party Makers in New York City where she handled major accounts such as FAO Schwartz, Central Park Zoo, Bloomberg Radio Summer and Winter events and Big Apple Circus. Nishi Levitt began working at Booz Allen Hamilton in 1998 as an Associate for over eight years.
In 2006 she began working for Satyam Computer Services Ltd. as a General Manager for three years. Some of the work she did at Satyam included developing, implementing and facilitating the Business Challenge Simulation to teach the Satyam business model to leaders around the world. Currently Nishi Levitt works with Business Learning Solutions GmbH and is their Regional Director for Asia. Nishi Levitt attended the Sastri Durban College for Early Childhood Education.

Altaf Mahammad

Altaf Mohamm dad is an actor, teacher and casting director. He has not only performed in Hindi, Bengali and Telugu movies but has also been in a number of theatrical productions in India.

Altaf Mohammad has worked with the National School of Drama where he has been a trainee and has also been an instructor to students. In addition to this he is associated with the Children Art Theatre as Vice President promoting and encouraging theatre arts for all children. He founded and is currently the president for the Centre of Arts, Media and Social Welfare. Additionally he has trained news anchors for news channels and programs throughout India.

Altaf Mohammad frequently writes about theatre and child development for a number of magazines and has worked with various government entities and NGO’s to aid them with their public awareness campaigns.

Rima Mazumdar

Faculty: Editing

Rima Mazumdar has over 15 years of experience in post production and production of television software.

She started out as an Assistant Director and Costume Designer and Coordinator for various television series, films and music videos. She has worked with Ramoji Film City as a Program Associate and as an Editor for ETV Bangla. As an editor she worked at Padmalaya Studios and then Sibar Media and Entertainment Limited. In 2002 Rima Mazumdar began working at Joyce Meyer Ministries, Asia. She has handled post production administration, maintenance and periodic upgrading for 5 edit studios and 2 audios units. She also does freelance work on various projects.

Rima Mazumdar received her B.A. (English Honors) from Calcutta University in 1998 and her Post Graduate Diploma in Television Production from Hyderabad Central University in 2007.
