Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It gives me immense pleasure to bring to you the accomplishments made by the Asian Institute of Public Health (AIPH) during this year. The two-day International Workshop in Environmental Health in Delhi and the day-long work shop in conjunction with our annual day celebration in Bhubaneswar was one of the highlights of our work and commitment to the serious needs in environmental and occupational health in Odisha and other states of India at present. Six U.S.-based professors and over sixteen experts from India presented at these workshops apart from various special group sessions and student presentations. Our faculty members have received and implemented multiple research grants from ICMR, NRHM-Odisha, and overseas universities such as University of Nebraska Medical Center, University of California, Davis and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK; and Duke University, USA. It was a delight to see that 100% of our first batch of MPH have received wonderful placements and the second and third batch are on their way to achieve the same results as they prepare themselves to shoulder hard core public health needs in the country. Some have gone to the U.S. to continue their MPH and PhD and I am sure will bring value to AIPH as returning alumni.
Our AIPH family continues to grow, so are other institutions, departments, and foundations of public health in India. We are committed to bring synergy and tangible change in the field of public health in our part of the world and I invite you all to join hands to maximize the efforts we all are putting with the ultimate goal of improving population health in India and around the world.
