1. What are the topics covered under advanced learning?

A: Topics include the following

- Brain training activities: Puzzles and brain teasers for stimulating logical, critical and analytical thinking. These are essentially part of problem solving and high order thinking skills.

- Robot building projects: Building robots grounds up using special robotic kits suitable for the child’s age. This will include theory and technical details about robots. This will introduce the child to the amazing world of science and engineering. The child will learn concepts of mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering. The complexity of the projects will increase steadily as the child masters the easier projects.

- Science experiments: Engage in doing scientific experiments which address specific areas like water, solar energy, light, magnets, sound and so on. These are conducted using kits which are specifically designed for children. These will be done in a safe environment.

- Group discussions / debates: Children are encouraged to participate in discussions around latest happenings in the world of Science, Electronics, Astronomy (space), Technology etc. This revolves around the day to day happenings around the world and does not follow any specific format. This in conducted in a very informal and enjoyable manner.

2. Aren’t these covered in the school curriculum?

A: As you can see, these topics are not part of the standard curriculum since schools needs to follow the schedule mandated by the board. Depending upon the aptitude of the teachers and schools willingness to invest time and money, they may take up some topics as a special one off class.

3. What is the teaching approach used?

A: Our advanced learning curriculum is based on extensive research on ways to inculcate high order thinking skills in children which are translated in to our own proprietary approach. Kindly refer the detailed information in the about us page.

5. Why is advanced learning needed in the first place? What are the benefits?

A: From an individual perspective, we believe the core skills of science, engineering and math is the base for an individual’s progress in life, private or professional. The skills learnt as a child lasts a lifetime. These skills will be beneficial in the child’s academic as well as life experiences. Further, as we move in to the new economic environment, India is set to play a very important role in the advancement of science, engineering and IT. By exposing your child early to advanced learning, it will help to generate interest in their young minds and shape their thinking skills to become future leaders of the country.

6. What is the duration of the course?

A: This is a continuous learning course. The topics are started from a simple concept and become more and more complex so as to extend the thinking capacity of the child. We believe a child needs to be continuously exposed to advance learning in order to inculcate high order thinking skills as part of their personality.

8. Is there any age limit for enrolling to the advanced learning course?

A: Yes, it is suggested that the child should be atleast 6+ years old for beginning with simple concepts. For advanced areas like Robotics and Science experiments, it is important that the child should fully grasp the fundamentals. Thus it is more effective with children around 8 years old.

9. Can I choose specific courses e.g. Robotics for my child?

A: Our teaching approach is focused on the development of the thinking skills rather than just a specific topic. Hence we advise you to let your child get full benefit by following the approach recommended by us.

10. Can I purchase some of the robotic kits, science kits, puzzles etc?

A: Of course you can! We have a wide range of robotic kits, science kits, solar kits, educational books, puzzles etc available for sale for all age groups. These are handpicked by us keeping in mind the philosophy of Advaitam. We suggest you gift your child something that will kindle their imagination and help them learn at the same time. This will also encourage you (parents) to spend quality time with your children. These are also perfect as birthday presents. Chances are you will see many products that are not available in other stores.

11. What happens if my child misses a class?

A: Don’t worry, we will ensure that your child’s learning continue from where it was stopped. Our approach is towards the individual rather that the batch as a whole. We believe every child should learn at their own pace.

12. I have paid for 3 months in advance. Can I stop in between and get a refund of the remaining amount?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to provide any refund. Your child is however welcome to restart for the remaining period within 3 months from when your child stopped.

13. How many classes are there every month?

A: Advanced learning classes are conducted every Saturday.

14. What are the batch timings?

A: Please refer the batch details page for latest information.

15. Can my child move from existing batch to another batch?

A: Though it is preferable to continue in the same batch, we will be happy to accommodate your child in other batch where there is a vacancy. We do not prefer to over load a batch since it hampers the individual attention time of the child. Please think, would you like your childs batch to be over loaded by other children moving from their batch?

16. How do I know what my child is gaining by joining this course?

A: As you are aware of our approach and objective, you will notice the change in their thinking process by way of e.g. how they respond to your questions, how to analyze things around them, and most obvious of all, how they question your decisions! Please do not discourage them from challenging your decisions. Rather, try to answer them patiently till they are convinced.

17. Do you conduct summer camps?

A: We would definitely conduct summer camps on specific areas of your childs development. Please visit the batch details page regularly for latest update.

18. Do you work with any schools?

A: We would provide our services to schools based on case by case basis. Please feel free to contact us in case you would like us to conduct workshops for your school.
